Growing Leaders to Build Change

Social Justice Jobs at Tzedek Host Organizations

Tzedek Fellows conversing on steps

Tzedek partners with social justice organizations in Asheville, NC whose work centers on LGBTQ rights, racial justice, and combating anti-Semitism. Each host organization is selected by program staff based on the organization’s alignment with the Tzedek mission, their dedication to social change, their collaborative spirit, and the organization’s ability to provide meaningful work with supportive supervision and leadership. Host organizations play a vital role in providing Fellows with an opportunity to do transformative community building and social change work.

Please note: The Tzedek Social Justice Fellowship is currently on a “pause for the cause” as we build a more responsive program, develop more transparent systems, and deeply embody our values.

We’re honored to be a host organization for the Tzedek Social Justice Fellowship. This Fellowship provides an incredible – and all too rare – opportunity for Fellows to immerse themselves in the daily realities of social justice work while also getting broad exposure to social movements and the City of Asheville. At CSE, Fellows immediately dive into our work promoting LGBTQ equality across the South and we develop a portfolio distinct to each Fellow, blending their strengths with new areas they want to get exposure to.

Jasmine Beach-Ferrara, Executive Director at the Campaign for Southern Equality

Hosting the Tzedek Fellow each year has had a tremendous impact on the Asheville JCC’s ability to reach out to the larger community and form important partnerships with other social justice focused organizations. I believe that each of the Fellows has made their own significant mark in our community through their work here. With support from the Tzedek Fellowship program, the JCC has become known as a trusted ally for the LGBTQ community and a welcoming place for people of all backgrounds.
