Tzedek has signed on to the Grantmakers United for Trans Communities (GUTC) pledge, an initiative of Funders for LGBTQ Issues.
The GUTC Initiative is focused on improving the lives of trans people by increasing the scale and scope of philanthropic resources supporting the wellbeing of trans communities; elevating the dialogue regarding trans funding and connecting funders committed to trans issues; and supporting, increasing, and diversifying the number of trans people working in philanthropy.
To live into our commitment, Tzedek staff and Board will focus on
- Deepening our learning and relationships to better support the work sustaining and supporting trans communities in Asheville
- Increasing our grantmaking for trans-led work
- Publicly supporting trans communities, specifically in our advocacy work with other funders
- Recruiting and retaining trans and gender non-conforming staff and decision makers for our Board of Trustees and community-led grantmaking initiatives.
