Despu\u00e9s de recibirse de la Universidad de Boston con una licenciatura en Comunicaciones, Michael se forj\u00f3 una carrera como investigador y escritor independiente, estas dos \u00e1reas informaron y reforzaron su comprensi\u00f3n de las estrategias de opresi\u00f3n sist\u00e9mica y sus repercusiones. Estas ense\u00f1anzas incrementaron su deseo de participar activamente en el desmantelamiento de dichas estructuras. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En 2019, Michael decidi\u00f3 cambiar de carreras e incursion\u00f3 en la salud comunitaria en Asheville, enfoc\u00e1ndose en la salud de las personas transg\u00e9nero y en la prevenci\u00f3n\/atenci\u00f3n, la educaci\u00f3n, la divulgaci\u00f3n y la recaudaci\u00f3n de fondos para combair el VIH. En 2020, Michael y su esposa, Myela, inauguraron OUTthINK Studio, un estudio de arte digital para las personas queer, porque les parece que el poder que radica en ver y celebrar a las personas que se ha denominado como \u201cotras\u201d es un paso fundamental para romper con los prejuicios y las barreras que siguen dividiendo a la familia humana. Michael tambi\u00e9n es Vicepresidente de la Junta Directiva y Director del Fondo de Socixs Comunitarixs de la organizaci\u00f3n Blue Ridge Pride.
